Kitty Hawk or Bust!

It was about time. . . .after a year of discussing our next big adventure, in April we packed our bags, hopped a couple planes, jumped in a rental car and made our way to Kitty Hawk North Carolina.

Our vacations usually consist of a day here, two days there, and a hip hop and jump around Northern Va and Maryland and an occasional trip to the midwest.  This year I decided that I wanted to have a REAL vacation.  Combine all of our free time into one trip where we actually got to relax.  A vacation where I didn't have to spend most of it in a vehicle trying to fit everyone in.  This year we would go to one place and let those that wanted to see us (I mean Emma)  could come to us.

Our friend Ryan scored us an amazing house on the sound in Kitty Hawk NC, and both Brian's family and my family as well as our friends Kara and Ryan came to the coast to enjoy the beach with us.

We had a wonderful time, even though the weather wasn't optimal.  We fished for crabs, sat on the dock reading books, had a few good days on the beach, had big meals with family, and best of all, we got to relax.

Em and I cooking up the blue crab we caught right off the dock.

Our few days on the beach consisted of :

Emma making friends with the wildlife.
She and Mr. Crow-like bird hung out for most of the afternoon.

The Ramey-Anderson-Schroeder Girls
Big bad Uncle Chad and Aunt Cory came down to spend a day with their god-daughter

Emma and Kim had a fabulous time.
Emma got to sleep over several nights and couldn't get enough of Kim time.
These two are definitely kindred spirits.
One night Em decided to "tatoo" everyone with their names.
I think I about hit the floor when she started with Tooey.

  1. We sure did have a wonderful time. It was so special to have my family together at a place I love and have such good memories. Of course, Emma was the icing on the cake!
